PART-TIME STUDENTS: Apply for Funding
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Apply for Funding
The Part-Time Student Support Program’s primary goal remains to provide financial, academic support services and personal support to individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • are academically strong part-time students
  • are approaching completion of their undergraduate degree
  • would be able to register for an additional class(es) if they received financial support and other services.

For the purposes of this program, part-time is defined as taking fewer than twelve (12) credits. In order to be eligible to receive financial support from the Part-Time Student Support Program, you must have a GPA of 3.0 or greater.

To begin the process of applying for a Part-Time Student Support Program scholarship, complete the six questions below and e-mail them to parttime@hunter.cuny.edu. Once your answers are submitted, you will be contacted by a part-time advisor. Additionally, if you do not have a current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file for this academic year please complete one immediately — you may do so at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

  1. What is your full name, as it appears in Hunter College's records?

  2. How many credits are you currently taking? How many credits have you earned
    at Hunter?

  3. What degree are you working towards? When do you hope to graduate?

  4. If funding were provided, would you take additional classes? Would you take
classes during Summer or Winter Session? Would this enable you to complete
    your degree faster?

  5. If you already plan to take classes during Summer or Winter Session would
you take more credits during those sessions if funding were provided?

  6. What other resources for part-time students are you interested in?

To schedule an appointment with a Part-Time Advisor, please contact Ms. Sylvia Velazquez at (212) 772-4671. Ms. Velazquez will meet with you by appointment between the hours of 7:30 AM – 10:00 AM. If these times are not convenient, other mutually agreed upon times may be arranged.
