- I'm a Transfer Student how do I find out what courses were
accepted by Hunter?
- Matriculated Transfer students from an accredited
U.S. college as well as International Matriculated Transfer
Students will receive an Evaluated
Transcript from the Admissions office one to two months after admittance to Hunter.
- International Matriculated Transfer students from colleges outside the U.S. will receive an International Transfer Evaluation s
heet listing accepted courses from the Office of Student Services International Evaluation Unit.
- I'm on Probation, what happens now?
- You have until June to bring your GPA to a 2.0. If you do not you will receive a letter of dismissal. You may appeal this dismissal. Click on Probation for more information.
- How do I become a Peer Counselor?
- You must see Reva Cohen or
Sylvia Velazquez for an interview the term before you want start.
- Can I appeal a grade??
- If the grade is an A, B, C, or D you must see the professor who gave you the grade; if it is a FIN or WU you may appeal the grade in Student Services. See also Appeal Policy
- Where do I find out about scholarships?
- Student Services - Room 1119 East; you may pick up a
Scholarship and Grants Guide or view it online. You should also speak to Myrna Fader in the Office of Student
Services.
- Who do I ask about Veterans' Benefits?
- The Office of the Registrar, room 217 Hunter North can give you information about
Veteran's Benefits.
- How do I check to see if I've completed the Distribution Requirements?
- You can use the Distribution

- Who can I see who will Distribution Requirements check to see what Distribution and Pluralism and Diversity Requirements I have fulfilled?
- Any counselor or peer counselor can check Distribution and Diversity Requirements.
- I have a WA grade, what do I
do?
- You MUST get immunized! See the Medical Office or Kristina
Testa-Buzzee in Student Services about the
grade as soon as possible.You will lose a term's worth of classes if you do not.
- How do I withdraw from a class?
- From the 3rd to10th week of classes, you must fill out a withdrawal form and submit it to the Registrar's Office. After the 10th week (see deadline date in calendar in Schedule of
classes) you may see a counselor in Student Services. Counselors may grant withdrawals if there is documentation of a serious
situation (Medical, personal, employment). Withdrawals may not be granted if there are other options or it is not appropriate for your
situation.
- I got an Incomplete in one of my classes. How long do I have to
complete it?
- You have until the 10th week of the following term to
complete the work. See the Academic Calendar in the Schedule of Classes
for the Deadline Date.
If you do not complete the work by the deadline the INC grade is automatically changed to an FIN, a failing grade. Your professor can extend the time allowed to complete the work, if he or she wishes (you should not assume they will do so), but the FIN gr
ade stays on your record until the professor submits a grade change to the Registrar's Office.
- I failed a class, do I have to Repeat it?
- No, but if you do you can remove the F from your GPA (not your transcript). See a counselor to discuss this.
- I have a WU grade, what does it mean?
- It means you failed a course because you did not attend and did not officially withdraw. See withdrawals and grade change, above.
