Please follow these steps to ensure that you are prepared for advisement and registration at Hunter College for the Spring 2007 semester:

  1. Review your acceptance letter and complete the online my choice response form.
  2. Take any required placement and/or assessment tests.
  3. Check on financial aid or enroll in the TuitionPay tuition payment plan.
  4. Review your transcript evaluation.
  5. Submit your proof of immunization.
  6. Attend your advising session.
  7. Register online for Spring 2007 courses.
  8. Obtain an official bill from the OASIS (Room 217 North Building).
  9. Submit payment.
  10. Apply for your Hunter ID and Spring 2007 sticker at the OASIS.
  11. If you are a student with a documented disability, register with AccessABILITY.

Acceptance Letter and Response Form
You will receive an acceptance letter from the Office of Admissions. Please read it carefully.

Complete the online response form as soon as possible. The completion of this form initiates the evaluation of your prior college transcripts for course equivalencies at Hunter.

Placement and Assessment Tests
Depending upon your intended major (Math Placement Test) or your admission status (Basic Skills Tests), you may be required to take placement and/or assessment tests before your first advisement session and registration at Hunter College.

Math Placement Test
The following majors or programs at Hunter require higher level mathematics and/or statistics courses: Accounting; Biological Sciences; Chemistry; Computer Science; Economics; Education (all programs); Health Professions (Community Health Education, Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing, Nutrition and Food Science); Mathematics and Statistics; Physics; and Psychology.

If you do not have the required mathematics and/or statistics course(s) through transfer credit, you will have to complete the course(s) at Hunter College. To ensure appropriate placement you must take the Math Placement Examination.

Basic Skills Assessment Tests
If you have been admitted on a conditional basis to Hunter College, your acceptance letter contains important information about the Basic Skills Assessment Tests. You will not be permitted to proceed with the advisement/registration process until you have satisfied this enrollment requirement.

Financial Aid
If you filed a FAFSA for the 2006-2007 academic year, make sure information about you is on file with Hunter's Office of Financial Aid, Room 241 North Building. The Financial Aid web site has extensive information.

Transcript Evaluation
Responding to the MyChoice web site initiates the evaluation of your transcript (s) from other academic institutions for Hunter course equivalencies. Access to this evaluation will be e-mailed to you. Review it carefully.

If you attended an academic institution during the Fall 2006 semester, arrange to have an official transcript with final grades for that semester sent directly to the attention of the Evaluations Unit, Office of Admissions, Room 203 North Building, Hunter College, 695 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10021.

Proof of Immunization
You will not be permitted to register until you submit proof of immunization to Hunter College's Health Services Office, Room 307 in the North Building. You will be able to download information and forms from the Health Services web site.

Advising Sessions
Once Admissions completes your transcript evaluation, you will receive an appointment to attend an advising session in January 2007 for new transfer students. During the advising session, you will have an opportunity to meet with an advisor/counselor from the Office of Student Services. The advisor/counselor will provide you with important academic information regarding degree requirements. You will be eligible to register only after you have attended the advising session and submitted proof of immunization.

Registration
The online registration process will be described during your advising session. If you want to preview registration services, visit the Registrar's web site. Please remember that you will not be permitted to register until you submit proof of immunization to Hunter College's Health Services Office, Room 307 in the North Building.

Tuition and Fee Payment
Your tuition and fees must be received by the due date specified on your bill to avoid cancellation of your Spring 2007 registration. Acceptable forms of payment are:

* cash, personal check, money order
* credit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover)
* approved TuitionPay tuition payment plan
* confirmed third-party payment vouchers
* confirmed financial aid awards
