Can I stay in my room during holiday breaks and summer?
Our campus is open 365 days a year. Students staying on for the spring semester are allowed to stay during the December and January intersession. We do not close for holidays such as Thanksgiving. Summer is a separate application process; in general, students can stay during the summer if they stayed in the residence hall in the previous spring. Those summer residents not living in the residence hall for the subsequent fall semester can only stay for Summer Session I. Please note that summer is a separate application process and only available to current residents. Honors College students staying for summer must pay the summer housing fee.

Do you have single or double rooms? Are the rooms furnished?
All of the rooms at Hunter's residence hall are single-occupancy rooms, and are furnished with a single bed, dresser, desk, and desk chair. However, residents do share common bathrooms, showers, and a kitchen located on every floor. The typical room size is 10’ x 12’. Although windows are equipped with mini-blinds, students may also supply their own curtains (windows are 51 ½” tall x 54 ½” across). Residents may buy or rent small refrigerators (no larger than 4.5 cubic feet) for their rooms. Microwave ovens are not permitted in the rooms. You may also view the photo gallery, which contains floor plans and photographs of rooms and other facilities.

The residence hall is located in a good neighborhood, but it is close to a number of offices and buildings that are not busy at night. Therefore, we urge students to exercise caution when walking in the neighborhood, especially at night, and to keep to the busy streets. The residence hall building is staffed by Hunter Public Safety personnel 24 hours per day.
